Weekly Planner: What’s on the Agenda for July 11-17

Your summer holiday starts here.

School’s officially out for summer – but if you’re not heading out of the country, how about treating your kids to a holiday closer to home? Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort has just launched its Treehouse Summer Camp, designed specifically to keep youngsters entertained whilst learning new skills during the school holidays. With a variety of activities on the agenda for kids aged 4-12 – weaving, yoga, art classes, and beach games included – parents can make the most of the resort’s facilities and enjoy some much-needed R&R, chilling out by the pool or getting pampered at the hotel spa.

Running daily from 9am-5pm from now until September 22, prices start at AED 485 per child for one week including all snacks and lunch.

Hate leaving your dog at home when you pop out for breakfast? So don’t! The team at Just Vegan, Jumeirah’s first private-dining vegan restaurant, has proven how much they love animals by inviting customers to bring their four-legged friends along when they visit. They’ll even providing doggie bowls and water for your pet! Just bring your dog’s food with you so they can enjoy their favourite treats while you tuck into something delicious and healthy from the plant-based menu.

Love a concept store? We hear you! Following the hugely popular markets that ran throughout April in Media One Hotel’s P7 Arena, the hotel is now the summer home of The Urban Concept Store. Created by the brains behind That Dubai Girl, The Urban Concept Store boasts over 40 homegrown brands that feature beauty products, bags, accessories, jewellery, vintage T-shirts, candles, and perfumes. And it’s open six days a week. This one’s a great way to not only support local, but also shop local.

After spending over a decade helping carve out Dubai’s culinary scene, acclaimed chef Scott Price is leaving the city to head back to the UK – and doing something very special to bid us farewell. In recognition of his 11 years in the UAE, he will commemorate his last service at folly by Nick & Scott with a five-course tasting menu on July 14. Selecting his favourite dishes from his time at Table 9, Taste Kitchen, and (of course) folly by Nick & Scott, Scott will treat diners to the likes of quinoa with beetroot and horseradish, Peking quail with parsnips, sirloin of beef with mushrooms à la crème, and a sweet finish in the form of hazelnut, vanilla, and salted caramel – each paired with the chef’s favourite tipple.

The menu is priced AED 595 per person. To book, call 04 430 8535 or e-mail [email protected].

Kicking off this month, Jones Social’s ladies’ night is all about fab food, crafty cocktails, great music, and laidback vibes. What a way to start the weekend!

For guaranteed goosebumps that have nothing to do with the air conditioning, make your way to The Dubai Mall this weekend to visit Infinity des Lumières. On exhibit these days? Dreamed Japan, Verse, and Van Gogh’s greatest hits. We dare you not to have your mind blown – and buy everything you see in the gift shop.
