MONDAY, AUGUST 9

There’s always time for afternoon tea – especially when there are some serious outfits involved. Paying homage to the original Marie-Antoinette Afternoon Tea in France, The Meydan Hotel’s Millennium Lounge and Parisian teahouse NINA’s Marie-Antoinette have joined forces to launch an immersive new afternoon tea experience hosted by your very own Marie-Antoinette. Guiding you through the art of the tea ceremony in classic Versailles style, this royal experience promises an array of the most fabulous blends from the historic tea makers, perfectly paired with beautifully crafted mini sandwiches and delicate cakes that are literally fit for a queen.

From AED 129 per person, every Monday and Wednesday from 3-6pm, call 04 381 3111 or e-mail [email protected].

TUESDAY, AUGUST 10

Get through hump day by tipping your toe into the future of art appreciation. Opening tonight at 7pm at Firetti Contemporary, NFT/IRL is a revolutionary art exhibition that merges both digital and physical worlds with the aim of building bridges between crypto and IRL art. Presented by Firetti Contemporary and MORROW collective, this group exhibition is the first-of-its-kind in the region, displaying digital NFT artworks and their physical counterparts side by side, with visitors offered access to both augmented and virtual reality through innovative tech platforms installed throughout the gallery.

Marking the beginning of their journey into crypto art, works from artists such as Ahmed Emad, Kadara Enyeasi, Irvin Pascal, Josh Rowell, Helidon Xhixha, and Fatiha Zemmouri will be on display, covering themes ranging from war and conflict to freedom and social change in styles that span from abstract to figurative. With the future the key focus, the exhibition will operate at net zero carbon, with all emissions offset through the Offsetra website. The exhibition will run until September 15.
