Weekend Diary: What’s On The Agenda For May 6-8

We’ve got that Friday feeling.

THURSDAY, MAY 6

Tucked away in the depths of DIFC, European bistro The Hidden Hog will host an exclusive Venetian-inspired dinner this Thursday night. Crafted by Italian chef Enrico Paiola, the delectable seven-course menu includes an array of dishes inspired by the Italian city, starting with a selection of small plates followed by an indulgent bigoli pasta with duck ragout, a main course of potato-crusted sea bass, and the classic Venetian frittole Veneziane con cioccolata – or Venetian chocolate doughnuts – to bring the experience to a close.

Running from 7pm-10pm, the dinner is priced at AED 237 per person for the tasting menu, with the option to add a bottle of white or red grape for an additional AED 117. For reservations, call 04 364 0126 or e-mail [email protected]

FRIDAY, MAY 7

Love animals? Us too, so we’ll be combining our love of dogs and yoga by taking part in a new yoga class that supports animal welfare in the region. Launching this Friday, and taking place every Friday for the coming year, Inspire Studio will host a weekly pay-what-you-can yoga class from 3pm-4pm at its DIFC location to benefit non-profit animal welfare organisation, Little Pearls.

Open to anyone – no yoga experience necessary – for a suggested contribution of at least AED 30, all proceeds from the class will go towards sponsoring neuter programs in alliance with Little Pearls’ clinic partners in the UAE. This year, the focus is on the importance of neutering the homeless population of dogs and cats via the well-known Trap Neuter Return programme, and all class participants will help provide animal care and education that saves lives, ends suffering, and ensures animal well-being. There’s also an option to live-stream the class for those who can’t make it to the studio or who are outside of the UAE. We can’t think of a better reason to practice our downward dog this weekend.
