5 Hair Must-Haves for Frizz-Free Swimming

Beat frizz with these after-pool products you can pop into your beach bag.

Long summer days mean a lot of us will be chilling by the pool or on the beach. With so much chlorine and sun damage – not to mention humidity! – it’s only natural for hair to start looking frizzy and dried out.

Here are 5 products to keep on hand to beat the frizz.

1. Argan oil

Before heading out, coat your hair strands with argan oil to help protect it from the harmful effects of chlorine. An oil layer will guard your hair from getting clogged with chemicals and chlorine. You can also switch argan for coconut oil.

2. Clarifying shampoo

Staying in chlorine water for long hours in the sun can lead to hair lightening and can even, in extreme cases, turn strands green. Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo straight after the pool. It’s designed to lift away mineral deposits left by hard water, chlorine and salt.

3. Leave-in conditioner

After washing your hair, lock in moisture and fight back frizz with a leave-in conditioner. One of our favourites is Briogeo Rosarco Milk Restorative Leave-In Conditioning Spary – its light-weight formula helps nourish a dry and flaky scalp and ends.

4. Hair mask

A moisturizing hair mask will help to further frizz-proof your hair. Treat your tresses with a rich nourishing hot oil mask from Starskin, which will deeply condition and nurture your locks with its blend of coconut and jojoba oil restoring softness and shine. Apply after shampoo and before conditioner.
