Signed up for the RAK Half Marathon yet? Then get your skates – we mean sneakers – on! Registration for the 15th edition of the race, which takes place on Al Marjan Island on February 19, closes on January 31, and with less than 800 spots available for the Half Marathon category, there’s not a moment to lose.
Officially known as the world’s fastest half marathon, the RAK Half Marathon has consistently drawn the best international athletes and amateurs from around the globe, along with hundreds of runners from across the UAE – and this year, there’s an exciting new addition to the race to help competitors hit their stride.

With the mission of creating the ultimate running playlist, Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon has teamed up with the Arab world’s first music streaming platform Anghami, inviting all race participants to submit a favourite track that gets them motivated during a run, pumped-up for a race or sprinting during a speed session.
Registered runners can send in their chosen song, or songs, via the event’s official social media channels. RAK Half Marathon organisers will then work with official music partner Anghami to collate the songs into a #RAKHALF2021playlist, as well as additional compilations to support the remaining virtual training runs.
With hundreds of runners already signed up, and the Anghami catalogue comprising more than 30 million Arabic and international songs to stream and download, the official RAK Half Marathon Playlist looks set to be a seriously diverse musical mash-up – just the thing for pushing you through the finish line on the year’s first major racing event.
