Libra Zodiac Sign

Libra, 2023 is a Year of Rest and Reflection

Show yourself love.

This year is fairly low-key for you, Libra, and that’s a good thing. 2023 presents you will a period of rest, continued building within all sectors of life and minimal drama. The only big focus this year is love, a topic you know all too well and where you find yourself most at home. As you find your way through another year, make sure your need to please others doesn’t eclipse your own needs and wants.

Who You Really Are

Like the scales that represent this sign, Libra is all about balance, justice, and peace. Libra likes to collect all the data and perspectives before making any decisions (if they decide at all) about a situation, person, or problem. Intelligent, charming, and friendly, Libra has a head for information, a heart full of compassion, and a face that is show-stopping in its beauty. At their best, Libras are calm, loving, sociable, and harmonious. At their worst, they can be indecisive, shallow, and insincere. Assertiveness, honesty, and authenticity are important lessons for Libra.

Libra is Venus-ruled, and at home in the 7th house of relationships, love, and sharing. They are a cardinal (persistent, emotionally intelligent, and friendly), air (communicative, clever, and flexible) sign who bring these traits together to charm, socialise, and connect for the greater good. Venus is the planet of love, aesthetics, and art, and this comes through Libra by way of physical beauty, flirtatiousness, and creativity. The 7th house represents the part of our lives where we learn to work with others and form partnerships. Overall, this sign speaks the language of love, fights for justice, and lives for human connection. Walk the line between having fun and having a purpose, giving and receiving, maintaining peace, and fighting for what is fair. You do it well.

Career and Money

2023 begins with a full moon in Cancer on the 7th of January perfect for reflecting on career and work habits. Thinking about how your job, responsibilities and long-term goals make you feel during this time is an ideal way to prepare for the year. From the 25th of March until the 23rd of July, it is a great time for career moves, especially those that align with your morals and values. There is another Cancer full moon on the 27th of December that provides welcoming reflective energy in which to review the year and appreciate all you have achieved.

The lunar eclipse in Scorpio on the 5th of May provides the opportunity to review your spending and financial systems, as well as shake loose any blockages preventing you from attracting all you desire. From the 24th of October until the end of the year, it is a great time to invest, make long-term financial plans, and spend. Ensure that you play your cards close to your chest during this period, however, and look deep within to find any limiting beliefs that stop you from having a healthy relationship with money. The 10th of December is a particularly abundant day for you, so align your loftiest dreams accordingly.

Friends and Family

The full moon in Leo on the 5th of February brings friendship and your social life to the forefront. You may find yourself reflecting on the quality of your platonic relationships; how much joy they bring you, how authentic you can be within them, and if the giving and receiving are balanced. From the 20th of May until the 9th of October, you are at your social best. Have fun, play, and shine your light. You may find this a time when friendships become more romantic, so be clear about your intentions from the get-go (especially between the 23rd of July and the 4th of September).

The year begins with a big focus on home and family, especially if there has been any tension here as of late. Until the 11th of February, take time to work on family relationships, fix up any parts of your home that need it, and protect your sensitivity with clear boundaries. Be very clear about your meaning until the 18th of January, as this time is primed for misunderstandings and miscommunications. On the 3rd of July, the full moon in Capricorn provides a good time to reflect on your current living situation and decide whether you feel safe, secure, and grounded within it.

Love and Romance

From the 20th of February until the 15th of May, your attitude towards long-term relationships and commitment comes to light. This is a time when you should take romantic risks, passionate, and be brave for love. Show people (including yourself), that you care. The solar eclipse in Aries on the 21st of March is a perfect time to start something new, and if you’re dragging your feet the universe might just start it for you.

On the 20th of April, there is an abundant and energising power coming from the heavens, and you can take advantage by being your most courageous, spontaneous self. Relationships or commitments starting on this day will be blessed with powerful and optimistic energy. The full moon in Aries on the 29th of September is a great time to reflect on your partnerships and take forward the lessons you need in the future.

If you’re in a more casual and single stage of life, the best time for fun, romance, and expressing yourself is from the beginning of the year until the 3rd of March. This is a time when you should be your most unique self, celebrate your independence and try new things as a way to meet people. On the 23rd of January, there may be a sudden change or development in your love life, so be ready for romantic curveballs.

Your Year in a Nutshell

2023 has a lot going on energetically, but as usual, you manage to sidestep most dramas easily and with grace. Don’t opt out of those things that make life living, however, even if they mean you’ll get a little messy in the process. Those are the best parts.

Goodbye, 2022! 2023 Is Here, and She’s Bursting With Possibilities

Let go and enjoy the ride.
This year is special in a lot of ways, and no one will leave it unscathed (but in a good way). Immense growth, change and deeper connections to themselves and others, all signs will be experiencing rare astrological events and transformative energies throughout the year. Anomalies include four Mercury Retrogrades in the earth signs, providing us with a safe time to review and recover from the intense energy between them. Another rarity, this year contains 13 Full Moons, 2 of which will be in Cancer and full of emotional, reflective and security-oriented energy. There are also 2 Aries New Moons, one of which is a Solar Eclipse, bringing us big new beginnings-type energy around March. Venus is in Retrograde around the middle of the year, in Leo. This may bring about relationship conflicts, creative blocks or revisions and financial errors so prioritise communication, generosity and compassion.
Saturn enters Pisces for the first time in nearly 27 years this year, and if you were born between 1994 and 1996, get ready for your Saturn Return; known universally as a time of big changes and “growing up”. More broadly, Saturn in Pisces will bring about a lot of emotional, spiritual and altruistic work and changing of structures within these areas. This transit will cause a global shift in the collective’s beliefs, compassion and connection to one another as structures are put in place to better support humanity.
Jupiter moves into Taurus this year, a transit that is financially abundant and full of good fortune. Growth and healing will occur for many around their bodies, their connection to the present moment, and their routines. Slow and steady progress, grounding practices and practising mindfulness are all ways to accentuate the positively lush energy this transit brings. In the second half of 2023, both Jupiter and Uranus Retrograde in Taurus, providing a time to reflect on our relationship with money, possessions, work and security.
Finally, Pluto will undertake its first appearance in Aquarius for the first time since 1798. While its full 20-year stint in Aquarius will not begin properly until 2024, this first touch will give us a taste of the change that it will bring for the first time. Transformation will occur globally in areas like technology, humanitarianism, rebellions and new ideas. This exciting new age has the potential to unite humanity more than ever before while holding the power to overthrow oppressive systems and create solutions to social problems. Aquarius in Pluto brings hope into 2023 in a way many of us have been looking for for a long time.
2023 is big, it’s unique, it’s dynamic and it brings powerful energy. As the energy of 2023 sweeps through, let go and enjoy the ride. While unpredictable and at times downright terrifying, trust that it is taking us to a better place. Ready to see where this thing takes us?
