You, But Better: The Gaggler Agenda for September

Mark your calendars.

September 1: Feel Something

Start the month by stepping back in time at Chemistry of Feeling, the largest community exhibition to take place at Gulf Photo Plus. Showcasing 100 photographs by nearly 80 photographers, the exhibition draws on the delicate connections between a tumultuous past year for human relationships and photography, locating moments of slowness, introspection, and today’s folding priorities – all captured in film format. What results are visuals that are slow in pace and highly contemplative in spirit.

The immersive experience at Dubai Opera Garden will wrap up with a picnic basket full of treats and eats to infuse your Saturday evening with a culinary note.

September 20: Clear Your Chakras

The full moon phase is downright powerful – it’s an optimum time for recharging your energy field and clearing your chakras. Unsurprisingly, many cultures have full moon rituals because there’s so much pure energy in the air that can be used to yield incredible healing results, both physically and mentally. Hosted by SEVA, the Full Moon ThetaHealing session is a wonderful opportunity to free yourself from the limitations and energy blocks in your life, especially as it will be led by Theta Healing Master Mihaela El Haj.

September 21: Listen Up

Sound therapy brings with it a number of benefits – stress reduction, improved clarity, deep relaxation, pain relief, and more – which is why the Crystal Bowl Sound Journey session at Kave comes highly recommended. As for what to expect? A bath of sounds that allows your body to let go and move into a deeper state of relaxation, recalibrating your nervous system and relieving tension in order to clear negativity. This is because our bodies consist of 70% water, making them highly sensitive to sounds.

September 22: Join a Movement

The Praxis of Change exhibition kicks off today, marking Firetti Contemporary’s first group show. Described as a manifesto on sustainability, it’s designed to inspire both artistic appreciation and a desire to respond to environmental challenges, inviting attendees to view art through ecological glasses – how the environment is represented within images and sculptures as well as how the role of humans on earth is depicted. Asserting that saving the planet is a collective effort that demands individual responsibility, Praxis of Change will feature works by Irvin Pascal, Ghizlane Sahli, and more.
