H&M’s designer collaborations are the stuff of fashion legend, with previous collections by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Versace and Marni causing in-store riots as shoppers clamoured to get their hands on bargain-priced designer threads. But while the Swedish fashion giant’s latest launch may not be quite as manic as previous years, thanks to ongoing Covid-19 social-distancing measures in-store, the excitement of snapping up a piece from the H&M X The Vampire’s Wife capsule collection online still makes our hearts pound.
Beloved by a long list of super-chic celebs including Alexa Chung, Dakota Johnson, Sienna Miller, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie, The Duchess of Cambridge and many more, the cult British fashion label is known for its flattering silhouettes, glamourous details and demure designs that celebrate both women and the female form. And in keeping with H&M’s continued efforts towards supporting fashion sustainability, The Vampire’s Wife capsule is progressive in both attitude and fabrication, with all garments made from sustainably-sourced materials.
“It was a great honour to be asked to be the next collaboration with H&M’, revealed the label’s designer and creative director, Susie Cave. ‘H&M went to extraordinary lengths to bring the dark and sensual world of The Vampire’s Wife to life, and I hope this collection gives as much joy to those who wear it, as it did for me to create it.”
The debut collaboration between The Vampires’ Wife and H&M arrives in-store and online on October 22
Bold, feminine and darkly decadent, the collection is a must-shop for fans of the brand and boasts an array of party-perfect pieces – particularly fabulous choices if you have a socially-distanced Halloween soiree in the diary. Statement items include the lace mini dress with signature shoulders, the velvet mini dress with sensual pussy-bow and the romantic silvery lace cape, all of which are comprised of recycled nylon and recycled polyester, while the brand’s signature focus on silhouette shines on the street-sweeper length lace dress with retro ruffled hem.
Accessories encourage whimsy, as charm necklaces, bracelets and ear cuffs feature eye, cloud, and the label’s ubiquitous vampire teeth iconography. 80’s-inspired fingerless lace gloves and white detachable ruffled collars are an instant outfit updater, while classic black dominates the collection for a mysterious feel, with shimmery silver lace, opulent button cuffs and rich velvet textures adding a luxurious tone.
Available in selected stores and online at HM.com from October 22 – what a (trick or) treat for fashion fans across the region!
