It all started last week with a social media campaign devised by Dubai-based Gates Hospitality. Celebrated as a genius move by the company that created four of the city’s most popular eateries – Reform Social Bar & Grill, Publique, Bistro Des Arts and Ultra Brasserie – guests that can prove they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with their official vaccination certificate are being offered a unique discount on their bill, with 10% off when they have been for their first vaccination, and 20% off when they’ve had their second.
Running from now until the end of February across all four venues, the company have been praised for their innovative social media marketing campaign, which not only encourages UAE residents to get vaccinated, but also offers a safe, socially-distanced way to support local businesses during the pandemic, with great discounts as an incentive.
“It’s our firm determination to stand by the Dubai Health Authority in their efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic via the multiple vaccines, and to encourage the city’s residents to take the two doses of the vaccine and help curb the spread,’ said Gates Hospitality’s Chief Executive and Founder, Naim Maadad. ‘The goal is to encourage people to go for the vaccination and incentivize those who volunteer in doing their bit in the fight to stop the virus. It’s a move in the right direction and the only solution currently available to break the chain of rapid spread.”
While being vaccinated does not make you immune to the virus – continuing to follow the strict hygiene guidelines and social-distancing strategies set in place by the UAE government and Dubai Health Authority still applies to those that have received the vaccine – it reinforces the benefits of getting vaccinated as soon as you can, with more than health and social responsibility as a priority.
“We all want to go back to their normal lives and enjoy the freedom to conduct business in a responsible manner,’ continues Naim. ‘When maximum residents get their two doses, the herd immunity boost would bring a rapid end to the uncontrolled pandemic.”
And it looks like Gates Hospitality has started something of a trend.
Quick to follow in their footsteps, the UAE’s largest, independent multi-award-winning spa group Sensasia revealed a free 30-minute spa upgrade on treatments for customers who could prove that they – like every one of Sensasia’s staff members – had received both of their Covid-19 vaccinations.
And just in time for Valentine’s Day, luxury hideaway Bab Al Shams Desert Resort broke the news of a flat 25% off on all dining venues and hotel bookings made at the best available rate for all UAE residents who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine, with the discounted offer valid from now until April 30, 2021.
“We would like to show our support to the government of UAE, particularly Dubai Health Authority who is working tirelessly to get all UAE residents vaccinated and safe,’ said Ziad Sleiman, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort’s Hotel Manager. ‘We hope this move will incentivize people who are making the decision to get vaccinated and show our support for those who have already taken the jab.”
Having recently completed a successful COVID-19 vaccination drive for all eligible hotel employees and their families, the Bab Al Shams offer is valid at all of the resort’s dining venues, including Al Forsan, Al Hadheerah, the hotel’s signature desert dining experience, Al Sarab Rooftop Lounge and Ya Hala, as well as on the hotel’s best possible rate.
