TUESDAY MARCH 30
As Dubai Restaurant Week continues, foodies should seek out the latest addition to Dubai’s bustling F&B scene – the city’s first ever focacceria.
Opening their doors at Wasl 51, and co-founded by acclaimed chef Davide Galbiati, the super-Instagrammable La Fabbrica Focacceria Italiana has just three classic Italian items on the menu: Focaccia, Burrata and Tiramisu – all handmade in the homegrown, family-run new culinary hotspot.
Serving more than 15 variations of authentic, 72-hour fermented dough focaccia, including signature Italian favourites like Barese, Ligure and Trentina along with a sprinkle of adaptation to local flavours like Zaatar Man’ousheh, all focaccia are baked fresh daily, and based on a 2000 year old recipe. With spectacular Burrata the focal point of meals at La Fabbricca Italiana, served as a main course with sides to enjoy, dessert is Tiramisu – with an original recipe from the Galbiati family’s great Aunt Speranza Bon, who first created the dessert for a visiting Greek Princess in 1958. Served in a coppa imperiale – an imperial cup – to stay true to the dessert’s history and their aunt’s legacy, and made with exclusively imported Italian ingredients to maintain its authenticity, including Italian yellow egg yolks, Bialetti-brewed mocha coffee, whipped mascarpone, and dark chocolate shavings, the original tiramisu is set to become the most-wanted dessert in Dubai.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 31
Dubai’s only mountain resort, JA Hatta Fort Hotel, is now ‘officially dog friendly’ – which means you can enjoy a staycay for the whole family – including your four-legged friend.
Open to dogs of any size, the new doggie staycations allow guests to stay overnight with their furry friends as well as enjoy picnics and barbecues for dogs amidst the glorious greenery and landscaped grounds of the Hajar Mountain resort.
With doggy beds and toys provided upon request by the hotel, pets and their owners can dine in their rooms or in the picturesque, shaded area of the Palm Tree Garden with dining options available from all restaurants in the hotel. While dogs must remain on a leash in most areas for the safety of other native wildlife, they are permitted to roam free in the designated outdoor marquee area with plenty of rocky terrain to explore.
A must-visit for animal lovers, aside from two outdoor pools, there’s a shaded mini zoo with ponies, deer, goats, peacocks and tortoises, pedal boat rides at Hatta Dam, visits Hatta Honey Bee Farm, horse riding and spa treatments to enjoy, while adventurers can jump into activities like zip-lining, wall climbing, mountain biking and kayaking and more at the newly re-opened Wadi Hub.
The hotel has also exclusively partnered with FLOPSTER, the UAE-based app that centralizes all pet-friendly venues and activities throughout the UAE. A “Flopster” menu will be available every day of the week for visiting guests and pets at JA Hatta Fort Hotel, for AED 80 per person.
For overnight stays, pet owners will be charged a fixed sanitization fee of AED 150 for the un-fur-gettable stay, plus an additional AED 50 per pet, per day for additional cleaning.
