Are You A Phenomenal Female Photographer? Then Nikon Needs You!
Celebrating the talent and strength of the region’s female content creators, Nikon MEA and IFZA’s contest is searching for the region’s finest female photographer
Celebrating female empowerment, and the boundary-pushing, game-changing talent of female photographers across the region, NIKON MEA and The International Free Zone Authority have launched a competition to find the region’s finest female photographers – and help them to kick-start their own business.
Calling upon female photographers to participate in the region-wide competition – named Women, Phenomenally – Nikon and IFZA are asking photographers to join them in putting the spotlight on the phenomenal power of a woman with a brilliant mind, a strong heart, and a camera.
Inspired by Maya Angelou’s timeless poem, ‘Women, Phenomenally’, the challenge is for female photographers to take a photo of phenomenal women – the women who make a difference in the lives of the people around them. Mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, leaders, employees, community heroes and leaders – any number of women who help make the world a better, safer, more loving and nurturing place for all – and shine a well-deserved spotlight upon them.
With a prize that offers the chance to kick start their own photography business, two phenomenal women will be crowned winners of the competition, with the UAE winner receiving a 1-year IFZA Free Zone Business License, a Nikon Z 6 camera and NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4S, while the regional winner will get a 1-year IFZA Free Zone Business License, a Nikon Z 5 camera and NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3.
Running from now until April 8, 2021, the competition is open to all female photographers legally residing in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Nigeria, South Africa, Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, Pakistan, Nepal, Lebanon, and Egypt, and taking part is easy.
Each participant is asked to follow @NikonMEA and @ifzauae on Instagram, and post their chosen photograph of a woman or a group of women who fit the theme of ‘Woman, Phenomenally’ on their Instagram page. Participants can post up to 6 entries as a single post, not as a carousel, and you can take, or have taken the photo using ANY kind of photography equipment. You may take new photos, or enter photos from your archives, as long as they fit the theme.
On the caption of each post, make sure to include the following details in this particular order:
The hashtags #NikonMEAWoman and #IFZAUAE
The country that you are currently based in
The equipment that you used to take the shot
A brief description or caption about the photo
Tag @NikonMEA and @ifzauae
And that’s it!
The UAE winner will be picked from contestants based in the UAE, while the regional Winner will be picked from contestants based in all other participating countries.
Submissions will be accepted until Thursday, April 8.
On April 12, the top 20 submissions will be posted on the NIKON MEA Facebook page, with winners announced on April 15.
