All Your Questions About New Age Healing, Answered

Meet the experts at Lee Wellness.

New Age healing techniques are often shrouded in mystery, but as our global quest for wellness continues, people worldwide are exploring the likes of chakra balancing, intuitive readings, life coaching, and sacred geometry with a more open mind – and UAE residents are no exception. To that end, we tapped Lee Whyberd (LW) and Biancka Gracias (BG) of Lee Wellness to learn more about their areas of speciality, what the typical healing session entails, and how a sense of spirituality plays a role. Listen in.

Can you tell us a little about your background and how you got started?

A

LW: Six years ago, I was approached in the UK to do private work in Dubai – that’s when I saw how big the market for wellness and intuitive guidance readings was. I travelled back and forth for three years and am living here full-time for three years now. Founding Lee Wellness in November 2019 was purely out of passion for what I do because it enables me to share my gift with everyone. When I see my clients leave with a smile on their face or feeling lighter and happier, it gives me much inner peace and joy to know that I could do that through Lee Wellness. 

BG: I’ve been a lawyer for 17 years and continue to practise law, working in Dubai for most of this time. I have known Lee for the past three years and, as soon as we met, we knew that ours was a special relationship. I’d like to imagine sparks flying, but it was so much more. It was destiny. I joined Lee as his business partner in March 2020, and it has been a thrilling journey. We aren’t your typical business partners – we share a weird sense of humour, we share our life stories, we share our passion for Lee Wellness. Most importantly, I think we are there for each other for the silliest and grandest of things. I have always loved energy and spent over 10 years travelling to various countries, studying various energy modalities, and reading countless quantum physics publications. Over the years, I’ve converted my learnings into practical methods so that I can translate them to clients in energy-healing sessions.

Q

Lee Wellness is described as a New Age Energy Healing Centre. How would you explain this to someone accustomed only to mainstream medical care?

A

LW: It’s all about free will – being realistic about how many sessions the clients need or do not need. We also like them to just come in and be able to sit, drink, and relax in the ambience. We can help people who need answers in many different ways in their life. Holistic therapy and healing are very different to medical healthcare. We work with our higher self and their mind, body, and spirit. Medicine works more with the physical body. Sometimes, coming in for a nice talk can fix a lot of anxiety and relax the muscles, allowing energy to move more freely through the body.

BG: I’d like to explain what we do using my favourite analogy. As children, we’re taught to read numbers and the alphabet, but while we live on a planet that works based on various concepts of energy, nobody teaches us how to read energy. And nobody asks why! We do learn the basics of physics like E = mc2. However, the practical application of energy on the 12 meridian lines or 108 pressure points of the human body is almost like a well-kept secret. At Lee Wellness, we work with clients to explain how energy works. One cannot deny energy exists because this has long been proven and, with the likes of Kirlian technology, one can capture and read energy through bio-well sessions, for example. As a result of the manner in which we understand energy, our sessions are so much more impactful than walking into any other centre because we are working with a client in also informing them about how a modality works, thereby allowing for more interactive experiences.

What were the main concerns of your patients pre-pandemic? Has this changed in the recent past?

A

LW: People come for different reasons – work, love life, anxiety, chakra balancing, bio-well feedback, reiki, and different forms of relaxation and meditation. Yes, we see a lot of clients coming in to discuss their career, nervousness, or anxiety issues in 2021. They’re feeling very lonely from isolation and are in need of life coaching.

BG: Before the pandemic, we did see a lot of individuals coming in for private sessions or attending group sessions. Now, we see a lot of international clients contacting us for the unique services that we offer, especially because we can facilitate energy-healing sessions virtually. We’ve also seen a strong spike in companies requesting corporate wellness days, wellness workshops, and retreats that we have been busy curating. Mental health has been on the top of everyone’s agenda post-2020.

What are the practices that you specialise in?

A

LW: Tuning Fork Sound Therapy, Crystal Healing, Intuitive Healing, Intuitive Guidance Reading – all of these help cleanse the energy, balance the body, and balance the chakras using my higher energy to help on the body parts that need healing. Teaching a client grounding slows down anxiety through talking and releases toxins through sound therapy. It helps them not only with their future, but also makes them realise that there can always be positivity where there is negativity. We’ve also collaborated with Happy UAE on the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 and launched a podcast titled School of Life, where we talk about various concepts of energy and spirituality to inform and uplift oneself. It’s a good feeling to be able to contribute towards the wellness of the UAE community.

BG: I specialise in teaching manifestation through quantum jumping, Reconnective Healing, Healing with ArchAngels, and Angel Guidance Readings. My sessions are aimed at uplifting your emotions, clearing blocks, and connecting with angels. I always wonder how a session can be both powerful yet gentle, but working with energy or angelic frequencies can surprise you – even when you work with them daily. My clients typically don’t know what they want and are looking for some direction in how to alleviate pressure or release fears. I work in a way that educates them, so I see a lot of business owners feeling attracted to energy sessions because they resonate with me on that level. I should also add that Reconnective Healing and Healing with ArchAngels is powerful as we are interacting with your bio-field with frequencies above 500+ MHz. Now take into account that our bio-field resonates at about 68-75 MHz.

What happens during a typical healing session at Lee Wellness? And how many are needed to see results?

A

LW: It’s all dependent on which level they have a problem – they can do one to five sessions in order to start seeing the benefits of energy healing. I should, however, mention that we do not like ‘selling sessions or packages’ to our clients because we love and respect them all. We want them to experience a session and, if it resonates, then they can trust their own intuition into opting for more or less sessions.

BG: Some clients come to us asking for miracles. Whilst we would love to be miracle workers, we cannot break an addiction or remove a fear that one has been manifesting for decades nor can we change personalities. We can only shift as much as one would allow on a subconscious level. We get clients who express how ready they are on a conscious level, but when we reach the subconscious level, we realise they do not want to let go of those fears or limiting beliefs. But in all cases, it is because they inherited that from their parents or don’t know the feeling of being free from worry, stress, or limitation. Prior to all sessions, we ask clients to let go and not worry about how the healing will happen. And we’ve noticed benefits at the end of one session if clients can manage to follow these instructions, and further results with the completion of each session. However, results cannot be guaranteed to be permanent – just like you need to shower regularly, it’s important to cleanse your energy regularly.

What can healing do for a person? Are there visible changes after a healing session?

A

LW: Different healings give different effects. Tuning Fork Sound Therapy goes straight to the problem. The person will sleep very well in the evening and be extremely motivated the next day. I have seen so many types of effects and results, both short-term and long-term. Healings also come in different ways, and can also come as manifestations or opportunities.

BG: The benefits can be as endless as they are surprising! I often tell clients to keep their mind open to possibilities and surprises and, if they do, they can definitely expect something pleasantly surprising. In an energy-healing session, you have to trust the process and know that it’s always done in your best interest. The less you think about the how, the more the universe is allowed to surprise you. We find that clients who like to control every aspect in their life – usually in the name of ‘being organised’ – have more difficulty allowing happy surprises to come in. The analogy I like telling clients is how there are millions of processes happening in their bodies while they sleep at night, yet they don’t question them, but simply sleep and wake the next day – energy healing is like that. You need to trust the process and know that you are going to be a different person if you allow it.

Q

How does spirituality play a role? Does a person need to be spiritually inclined for healing to work?

A

LW: No, they just need to believe. We always have people who are non-believers and, when they leave, they change their way of thinking through the experience that they receive off the practitioners. Being spiritual is a way of life, one that practises kindness and spreading peace and happiness by adopting that by oneself.

BG: There is definitely no qualification or prerequisite to receive an energy healing. As Lee mentioned, you just need to have an open mind and not think, ‘This is going to be my way or the highway.’ We only know what we know, so if we open our minds just a little, perhaps it will allow a little more information that could well be happy and rewarding into our minds.

Lee, you are a 3rd generation clairvoyant medium. What does this mean and how did you realise you had this ability?

A

Because I was brought up in a spiritual family, I could see people’s life paths from a young age – and this has been a part of me all my life. I knew from a very young age. I was 13 when I started to develop my gift as the days went by. I’ve spent all my life in spiritual groups back in the UK, learning the rights and wrongs on how to use the gift for the benefit of others and myself. I continue to respect my gift and practise it to bring positivity and happiness to others and, in doing so, it only gets stronger with time.

Bianca, what can you share about how you developed your proclivity for healing?

A

Nobody in my family is spiritual, but they taught me to live honestly. I went the extra mile and became a lawyer because the need to find balance – for myself and then for clients – was so innate. There was a phase in my life when I lost everything that I worked for, and my emotions got the better of me. I never talk about it because I made peace with it a long time ago, but the process of rebuilding took me to various countries in order to learn energy-healing modalities. I also wanted to understand everything from a scientific perspective, so I researched the teachings of Nikola Tesla and Walter Russell, dusted off my school learnings of concepts by Albert Einstein, and started co-relating concepts on how they could apply to real life. Today, I can read energy and communicate with angelic frequencies, but I didn’t inherit this ability – I learned it. That’s why I am a believer that anyone can do the same if they understand the basics of quantum physics and, of course, practise it regularly.
