How To Fix Dry, Damaged Summer Hair

Struggling with post-summer dry hair? Here’s how to fix it.

We love summer, but boy does it play havoc on our hair. From sun exposure to humidity, chorine and saltwater, our hair is left dry, brittle, frizzy, damaged, lackluster… the list goes on. But fear not! There are a number of beauty products, rescue remedies if you will, that can solve your problem. Whether your concern is flat, fly-away hair without volume, or thick piles of damaged and unruly hair, we’ve got you covered.

For hair that is super dehydrated, a good place to start is a hair mask. Unlike your regular conditioner, which will only hydrate the top layer of your hair, a mask will penetrate deeper. Oil on the other hand is a much more versatile product and can be used on wet or dry hair and is ideal for treating split ends. For extra moisture, apply to your dry hair and leave in for a while before shampooing. Alternative apply to wet hair before styling for extra protection from heat damage.

Finally, if you’re after a wonder treatment you’ll be best off with a styling product. For salon looking hair, styling products are ideal for protecting hair from additional heat damage and can add extra shine, bounce or frizz-control. So, if your hair has been stripped of its natural oils, leaving you with parched locks, these nine products will help give new life to your hair.

FIX 1: Hair masks

Quick and easy to use, a mask will sort your hair in the time it takes to shower. Choose a deeply nourishing mask and gently comb it through your hair post-shampoo. Leave in for a few miutes, rinse off, and then apply conditioner.
