Why the Pantsuit is Our New Best Trend – and How to Wear One

Who says only men should wear suits? Here’s how to rock your pantsuit outside of the boardroom.

A symbol of female liberation and power, the two-piece pantsuit is back with a bang this season – and this time, it’s not just for the office. We’ve come a long way since the days of the first women’s suit created by Chanel, but it still makes for a powerful, statement look. Just recently, Lady Gaga donned an oversized, metallic grey Marc Jacobs suit from his SS19 collection for Elle’s Women in Hollywood event, and boy did she look hot!

Today the pantsuit is no longer confined to use in the office alone. Classy and sophisticated, it can be worn for different occasions – from lunches to dinners and a night out on the town, a wedding even. Yes, even in the desert heat. This season, feminine lines replace masculine shapes, but there is still an array of choices on offer to suit every taste and body shape. Whatever look you opt for, remember to ensure the fit is perfect to pull this look off right!

The Gaggler tip: Don’t forget to personalise with accessories.

1. THE LUNCH DATE PANTSUIT

For a casual lunch date, wear a blazer with three-quarter sleeves and detailing around the cuffs. Light colours are preferable for a more informal look, and linen is great for the heat. Dress up with heels and go for the lace-up sandals over the trousers look, or sneakers if you’re after a trendier look.
